Mega Heroes Running Towards Period Backdrop For Hits!

Trying to find a formula for success is quite common in the film industry. We are looking at a new recipe for success and it is period backdrop. Every hero is trying to make period movies and are trying to go back 20-30 years minimum. Interestingly, there are a lot of Mega heroes in it. As we know, NTR is doing 'Devara' which is expected to be set a few years back. Vishwak's 'Gangs Of Godavari' follows the same path. We have seen movies like 'Sir', 'RRR', 'Rangasthalam' and 'Pushpa' succeeded at the box office.

Now, Icon Star Allu Arjun is making 'Pushpa 2' which is set in the 80s and 90s. There are huge expectations on this rustic action drama which is being made on a pan-Indian scale. Varun Tej is making a film under Karuna Kumar's direction and it is named 'Matka'. Sources say that it is set in the 1970s. The coins, rupee notes and other things on the poster reveal that they are making something interesting.

Ram Charan's next film with Buchi Babu Sana is expected to be a period drama and the flashback of Shankar's 'Game Changer' is also going to have a 1940s backdrop as per reports. As we know, Kalyan Ram's 'Devil' is set in the 1940s pre-Independence era while there is a talk that a crucial part of Pawan Kalyan's 'OG' will have an 80s backdrop. Even Balayya's next flick with Bobby is also going to have such a period setup. Looks like Tollywood is running back the clock to find success.
