Disastrous Second Half For Mega Heroes!

2023 is almost coming to an end. It gave us a lot of highs and lows and even the Mega fans feel the same. As we all know, there are a lot of heroes in the Mega family and 4-5 films arrive from their compound every year. This year has been a mixed bag for the Mega family heroes as some witnessed their biggest hits while some faced disasters.

As we know, Ram Charan is working on 'Game Changer' which may release in 2024 while Allu Arjun is busy with 'Pushpa: The Rule' and it will release on 15th August 2024. With both star heroes busy with their pan-Indian flicks, they did have a release in 2023. The year started quite well with Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veerayya'. This commercial action entertainer turned out to be the Sankranti winner and emerged with very good profits. Chiru's comic timing, songs and Bobby's presentation impressed the audience a lot.

It was followed by 'Virupaksha'. This mystery thriller proved to the biggest hit in Sai Dharam Tej's career. Written by Sukumar and directed by Karthik Dandu, this movie surprised many and turned out to be a huge success. It also marked SDT's comeback after a big accident that kept him away from films for two years. He immediately arrived once again with 'BRO'. This time, it was a Mega multi-starrer as Pawan Kalyan was also a part of it. This interesting film cannot be termed as a super hit but turned out to be a decent venture.

But things went downhill from there as Varun Tej's slick action flick 'Gandeevadhari Arjuna' with Praveen Sattaru was an outright failure. The lack of emotions played the spoilsport in this movie. Megastar arrived for the second time this year with 'Bholaa Shankar' and it turned out to be a nightmare for the fans. Meher Ramesh's directorial was routine and bad on so many levels that even the fans suggested Chiranjeevi to stop making such movies. At the end of November, young Mega hero Vaisshnav Tej arrived with his commercial entertainer 'Aadikeshava'. The routine template and high-voltage action scenes did not suit the 'Uppena' hero at all and the openings are quite bad as well.

With three successes and three failures, 2023 is a mixed bag for the Mega family. But it gave special memories on the personal front as Varun Tej became a married man by bidding adieu to his bachelorhood and Allu Arjun became the first Telugu hero to receive a National Award in the Best Actor category which was truly delightful.
