Third Comeback: Senior Hero Saving Kajal Again

The once celebrated ‘Most Searched Actress’ on Google, Kajal Aggarwal, quickly lost her charm and attention in a decade of time. However, when Kajal Aggarwal lost her charm as a star heroine, it is Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 that gave her second comeback. Acting with senior heroes resulted in getting more roles, even opposite fading stars, and aged stars. Then after her motherhood, she isn’t getting big offers.

The latest buzz around NBK111 suggests that Nandamuri Balakrishna’s film with Gopichand Malineni might see Kajal Aggarwal replacing Nayanthara as the leading lady, as part of cost-cutting exercise. There is no official confirmation yet, but the talk is strong. And if it happens, it’s not just casting. It’s a pattern repeating. If Balakrishna’s makers ropes her in, that would be another big turning point in the career of this 41-year-old actress. Surely that would be her third comeback too. Senior heroes have quietly become Kajal’s comeback zone.

Male stars evolve into “mass” or “senior” zones and keep getting films. Female actors often need repositioning. And pairing with senior heroes has become one of the few reliable ways back. With senior heroes also getting trolled for acting with a heroine who is 25-30 years old, they are also roping the 40+ gang like Trisha, Kajal, Shriya and others. That way, Kajal might once again get into the game big time, while other small roles in some big projects are doing no good to her.
