Bollywood Actress Claims That She Is Struggling Without Work!

After a long gap, Neha Dhupia was seen in 'Bad Newz'. She played an entertaining role and it has been a tough time for her according to the actress. She made her debut in Bollywood back in 2003 with 'Qayamat: City Under Threat'. She is known for her feminist stance and interest comments on shows like 'MTV Roadies'. She won the Miss India back in 2022 and was a part of many movies and television shows.

Talking about her journey in Bollywood so far, she said, “I don't know why my phone doesn't ring so often. I come from a place where I have been struggling for 22 years to associate myself with interesting piece of cinema. Sometimes they do really well at the box office, sometimes you find a smaller audience to watch them. So whether films like Mithya, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Phas Gaye Re Obama or A Thursday that was an OTT release.”

She added, “One way or the other there is someone coming and telling, 'hey, this was great'or 'we liked you in this', 'hey, you were really good in this so why don't we collaborate and work on something together'. So one way or the other it is very important to put your work out there. Sometimes neither it is great, nor it is fine with the audience, then check yourself. I was glad my phone rang, but my phone doesn't ring as much. I got a film offer from down south, I don't know too much about how I can go about it, because I don't know a lot about the industry and I would love to work down south as well. And there were two offers back to back in the past three months.”

Neha stated, “But when was the last time I got a Hindi film offer, I don't even remember. I don't know why my phone doesn't ring that often. I also feel that industry is going through a really hard time so if I will go to knock on doors, which I always do and I feel there is nothing wrong in going out there and asking for work because you are not doing anything wrong. The people who are the ones who provide the work are the people who are struggling as well because they are not able to put down the math. Films have to be made apart from the script, the bigger script is the excel sheet of the money and that mathematics is not working out, so who do you actually go to?”

She added that they are not the actors who get great numbers at the box office. She revealed, “We are not the kind of actors who actually change the math of a project. Because we are not big ticket actors. We are the ones who want to go out there and work, charge professional fee and a professional fee is very different from deciding you own market prices. Those are the big numbers. We are not shaking the balance sheet that much.”
