The much-anticipated film Dragon, starring Jr NTR and directed by KGF maker Prashanth Neel, seems to be going through multiple changes. What started as a big-scale project is now seeing delays in both production and casting. In fact, Dragon was initially planned for a 2026 release. But things have changed quite a bit. And here’s the glad part.

A couple of months ago, the Jordan schedule had to be cut short due to tensions in the Middle East. That came after the Gujarat schedule output hadn’t convinced both Neel and NTR. And now actor Tovino Thomas has also hinted that he has walked out of the project, citing practicality issues, as he doesn’t want to give a year of bulk dates to a Telugu movie. If you look at it closely, this is not just a minor delay. Reports suggest that some portions shot earlier were scrapped, and even NTR was not fully satisfied with certain looks and sequences. This has reportedly led to a pause in the shoot, pushing the timeline further. So, will Dragon even make it to 2026?

In recent times, we have seen big films like RRR, Salaar, Toxic, and Peddi getting postponed multiple times. Among them, the already released movies worked big at the Box Office, as the content clicked. However, fixing a release date too early often creates unnecessary pressure and a last-minute rush, thus giving scope for mistakes during promotions. On the other hand, Dragon hasn’t officially announced any release date so far. That actually works in its favour now. With so many changes happening, a flexible shooting time gives the makers breathing space to rework things properly.

For now, the film is likely to move towards a 2027 release. We have to see if the team will come up with a solid update, possibly around NTR’s birthday on May 20th.
