Actress Pragathi, who’s usually seen in supporting roles in Telugu films Brindavanam, Mirchi, A Aa, Rangasthalam, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and more, has now made headlines for something completely different. She’s won a gold medal at the 2025 National Masters Classic Powerlifting Championship held in Kerala. Not just that, she also picked up two more medals in other categories, surprising many who didn’t know she was into powerlifting.

Pragathi competed in squat (115 kg), bench press (50 kg), and deadlift (122.5 kg) events. After winning three medals, she got emotional and shared her excitement online. In her post, she thanked her coach and everyone who encouraged her, writing, “Passion, Discipline, Hardwork, Pinch of madness and craziness And a broken heart is all it needed!!! Nothing but gratitude to the universe and tonnes of love for all my loved ones!! Thanku all for the beautiful wishes🙏

Special thanks to my coach Uday and Kaushik, GOLD IN NATIONAL POWERLIFTING COMPETITION 2025✨🧿”

She had already won silver in the South India Powerlifting Championship last year, and now with this gold, she’s shown real progress. Even more impressive is that Pragathi, at 50, continues to challenge herself and prove that age doesn’t limit strength or drive.

Many on social media are applauding her determination. Her efforts in both films and fitness have earned her genuine respect, with people calling her a true example of grit. She’s showing that her strength isn’t just for the screen, it’s part of who she is.
