There are three interesting releases - Skanda, Peddakapu 1, and Chandramukhi 2. Expecting a holiday advantage, the makers of Skanda postponed their film's release. But, the other two films could not make the most of the extended weekend.
"Skanda" starring Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela, directed by Boyapati Srinu, had a strong opening on its first day but received negative reviews, leading to a substantial decline in its second-day collections. It witnessed a temporary boost over the long weekend but is currently facing unfavorable reviews. But, the long weekend definitely helped the film.
However, "Peddakapu 1" directed by Srikanth Addala disappointed at the box office. Despite generating initial promise with its trailer, the film failed to impress at the box office. It had a disappointing opening, and negative word-of-mouth reviews further contributed to its lackluster performance. The film has almost completed its run, with no signs of a recovery. Hence, the second part of the film has now fallen into a dilemma.
"Chandramukhi 2" attempted to recreate the magic of the 2005 film but fell short of expectations. With Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles, the film struggled to capture the audience's interest. Its outdated narrative and lackluster storyline resulted in a disastrous opening day in Telugu, leading to a disappointing outcome.
These films seem to have faced challenges related to their content and reception by the audience and critics. Hindi film "The Vaccine War" also failed at the box office and altogether, September is a disappointment for Telugu Cinema.
