Rajamouli Turns 53, Internet Goes Gaga

Back then, only a few directors were actually called Superstars. From the likes of Dasari to K Viswanath, Yash Chopra to Raghavendra Rao, they are superstars in their own right. And then, if there is another director who wore the same crown but became an emperor rather than just a king, it’s none other than SS Rajamouli, the Telugu legend.

SS Rajamouli is not just a filmmaker; he showed India once again that storytelling has no boundaries, and his films lifted the curtains on the ‘pan-India’ era. With Baahubali, he has shown how to achieve ₹2000 crores club output from a movie. And then with RRR, he made the whole of India proud by taking it to the world stage. Usually, Indian-content movies made by foreign filmmakers used to get nominated for Oscars. But Rajamouli made sure that an Indian Telugu film sits right there inside Kodak Theatre and sweeps a trophy. He’s coming up with the Varanasi movie, which is hitting cinemas next year and is expected to take Indian cinema’s range to the next level.

That legendary Rajamouli celebrates his 53rd birthday today, and the whole of the internet is going gaga over the same. On that note, let’s wish the creator of many worlds the happiest birthday and hope he comes up with many more films, stories, worlds and emotions that would drive movie lovers around the world crazy. Happy Birthday, Rajamouli!
