Charan-Sukku Film: Old Rumour Resurfaces

After a lot of dilly-dallying, finally the Muhurat event of Mega hero Ram Charan’s latest movie with Sukumar happened the other day. This was supposed to be done during Dasara season itself, and there were earlier reports that it would happen in June itself, immediately after the release of the “Peddi” movie. Along with the event, the makers released a poster too. And that is leading to some discussions now.

As the poster featured a Krishna avatar like Charan, it’s rumoured that the film’s story is based on a Gujarati movie. This is a 2-year-old rumour. Earlier, it was reported that Ram Charan is playing the role of Lord Krishna in the remake of the Gujarati film Lalo, which will be produced by a Bollywood filmmaker, rumoured to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Now that # RC17's poster resembles Lord Krishna, it looks like the rumour got some wings.

However, insiders clarified that Sukumar is not someone who would choose to do a remake, but has written something original and new for Charan for years. Ever since Pushpa 2 got released, Sukumar has been on this script only, and it took him nearly 2 years to carve out a perfectly written script for the mega hero whose stardom has gone leaps and bounds after their previous outing, Rangasthalam.

That said, #RC17 is said to be going to floors very soon; however, the makers haven’t confirmed the heroine’s name and music composer’s name yet.
