More than ₹350 crores was grossed already from the box office, but then, Suriya’s latest movie Veerabhadrudu (Karuppu in Tamil) started to stream on the OTT platform as per the initial agreement of a 4-week gap from the release date. However, ever since the movie got out on the OTT platform, many are complaining that the visual effects in the movie are poor. Finally, director RJ Balaji has jumped into the scene to talk about the same.

Speaking at an interview, RJ Balaji stated that ‘time factor’ is the one that actually hurt the visual effects of the movie. While it takes 8-10 months for a VFX company to deliver the needful scenes, as the production house cannot honour the financial commitments, they have used only minimal shots that were made in a shorter amount of time. The face replacements and others were not done well because of this lack of budget and the subsequent lack of time, as per the director. He stated that next time he makes a film, he will take care of those aspects well, even for the OTT version.

However, many are wondering if RJ Balaji is actually making sense about the same. Because the film took more than a year to be completed and the budget of the film shot up by more than ₹50 crores, as per financier Tirpur Subramaniam’s revelation earlier. In that case, a good CG, which doesn’t cost more than ₹2 crores for a commercial film like Karuppu, should have got the best in class, isn’t it?
