“Akhanda 2 Postponement Affected Us Mentally”

Talented music composer is on a high with his work on films like #OG, making a nationwide name, while he’s waiting for Prabhas’ Raaja Saab to hit cinemas now.

During a press interaction recently, the maestro opened up about how the postponement of Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 has affected the team big time.

Speaking candidly, Thaman revealed that after working for 73 days continuously on the background score of Akhanda 2, and introducing many new singers through songs, he never expected that a postponement situation would arise.

“The team waited till the end, hoping that things would fall into place, but someone had stopped the movie from releasing. It affected us mentally,” he added.

He stated that what hurts him the most is the disappointment faced by fans. “Many travelled long distances, decorated theatres, and prepared enthusiastically for the premiere shows. Watching them return home disappointed due to a last-minute postponement was extremely painful for the team,” he further added.

Akhanda 2 was initially set for a December 5th release, but the movie got pushed to a December 12th release due to a legal suit from Eros India, which blocked the release through a Court Order due to some pending financial settlements. Only after the makers settled the issue amicably, the film get a clearance for release.

Meanwhile, Thaman confirmed that three more songs will be out from Raaja Saab very soon, and also he would be waiting for Balakrishna’s next with Gopichand Malineni, in which he wanted to make the senior star sing a song.
