Tollywood: Who Is Leading The Senior Stars Market?

Tollywood is scaling new heights when it comes to opening up new box office horizons and reaching massive markets. It has become a reality these days for Tollywood to easily have Rs 500 crore grossers and even Rs 1000 crore grossers.

In this connection, let us have a look at the markets of the senior stars of Tollywood - Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh.

For starters, Chiranjeevi's biggest grosser is Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which made over Rs 240 crores gross at the box office. This is the biggest film in the senior heroes bracket in Tollywood and it is followed by Waltair Veerayya at Rs 230 crores. It is safe to say that Chiranjeevi is leading this category in Tollywood. He next has Viswambhara which is projected to make Rs 300 crores.

Coming to Balakrishna, we have Veerasimha Reddy at Rs 127 crores gross which is the biggest hit in his career by a margin. He has Akhanda next with Rs 125 crores gross, followed by Bhagavanth Kesari with Rs 120 crores. He has Daaku Maharaj for Sankranthi and it could enter Rs 200 crore box with a good talk.

Venkatesh has F2 that has Rs 131 crores gross and this is the biggest hit in his career thus far. He is lining up Sankranthiki Vastunnam for this Sankranthi and it has to be seen where this would end up.

Nagarjuna earlier had Oopiri which raked up Rs 100 crores at the box office but it has been rather steep thereafter. It is time for Nag to set up big event projects that would upscale his market big time. He has Coolie with Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj which is the most exciting stuff from Nag in recent years.
