AI Is Not Scared Of Heroines?
The team has reportedly sought damages of around Rs 7,000 crore and has also asked the company not to use Urvashi’s name for business purposes without permission.
By: Priya Chowdhary Nuthalapti | 30 Sept 2026 3:25 PM ISTArtificial intelligence is changing the entertainment industry very quickly. From creating digital characters to making videos and images, AI is now becoming a major part of films and online content. But this growth is also creating fear among many actors, especially when their faces, names or videos are used without permission.
A recent controversy involving actress Urvashi Rautela has once again brought this issue into the spotlight. Urvashi Rautela’s team has taken legal action against Sheeraz Hasan, the Los Angeles-based founder and CEO of Bollywood.AI and Hollywood.AI. Her team has alleged that her name, photographs and videos were used without her permission.
The team has reportedly sought damages of around Rs 7,000 crore and has also asked the company not to use Urvashi’s name for business purposes without permission.
The controversy reportedly started after Urvashi spoke about artificial intelligence and its impact on Bollywood. She said that AI is affecting the entertainment industry. Her comments were followed by the dispute over the alleged use of her content.
Urvashi’s team strongly objected to the alleged use of her identity. The issue has raised an important question in the film industry: Can AI companies use an actor’s face, name or videos without their approval?
However, the response from the AI company shows that the technology industry is not stepping back from the discussion.
Sheeraz Hasan responded to Urvashi and said that people need to understand how artificial intelligence is changing the entertainment business. He said AI can be used to create movies, short-form shows and digital characters that can speak different languages and work at any time.
This has created a strange situation in the entertainment industry. Heroines and actors are worried about AI-generated content, while AI companies are looking at it as the future of entertainment.
