Will audiences Massy Valimai over Biopic Gangubai?
By: Tupaki Desk | 6 Feb 2022 11:00 AM GMTPushpa The Rise film confirmed that Indian audiences will love to whistle and watch mass masala commercial films with content, sans the language barrier.
Now, Ajith Kumar's Valimai is releasing Worldwide in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi languages. Movie release date is said to be 24th February.
On 25th February, Alia Bhatt's explosive biopic Gangubai Kathiawadi is set release worldwide too. So, the discussion is on in the film circles about which one will become favourite of the box office audience as both are big Budget films.
Owing to the performances of KGF Chapter 1 and Pushpa The Rise, one can vouch that Valimai, if good will draw more moolah worldwide for sure.
But can it outfox Gangubai in Hindi markets? That would be something to see. Vijay has become a star to reckon with in Kerala and is expanding his market in Telugu. Ajith, his competitor has been able to make a mark on Telugu audiences with Vaali, Premalekha kind of films 20 years ago but he did not convert it into a market.
Valimai is a big chance for him looking at how North Indians are also willing to watch South Indian masala films in theatres.
With a director like H. Vinoth on board and Boney Kapoor being the producer, Valimai might be able to find more global audience provided it stands on the promise of being a thorough action extravaganza.
Already few exhibitors and distributors who saw the film are praising it. Alia Bhatt does have a strong pull at box office and that too with a story of a strong women with sharp tongue handled by none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali should be able to put up good numbers.
Well, let's wait and watch who will win the race at the box office, hare or the tortoise. Even Valimai is a racer gang based film.
