One of the most talked-about dates in the Tamil arena right now is July 23rd, when the heavily discussed film “Jana Nayagan” hits cinemas. More than the reality of the film hitting the marquee, it’s the gossip around it that’s actually engulfing Kollywood. Especially when it comes to black tickets and benefit show talks, it looks like the talk has gone to the next level.

Though the production house KVN Productions has clarified that they are not targeting a July 23rd release, as the Central Board of Film Certification has yet to provide clarity on the film's release, fans are assuming the film will hit cinemas on the said date. Earlier, the film was blocked from being released because it had political overtones. Now, another talk is that CM Vijay has ordered the administration and theatres to not sell black tickets and not extract huge money from the audience in the name of benefit shows. This is because he fears that opposition parties might tear into this aspect and accuse him of using power to make money from a delayed film.

Well, all these things don’t sound positive or solid at all, because which Chief Minister would worry about his film’s tickets being sold at high prices? Because filmmaking is a business, producers, distributors and exhibitors will cater to the demand and price tickets accordingly. And which politician would, anyway, call Vijay for using power to sell tickets? Even without power, his film’s tickets would sell at high prices, right? Anyway, the chat around Jana Nayagan is quite spicy, though there is no release-date clarity.
