30 TRS MLAs ready to leave the party?

Are as many as 30 TRS MLAs, including sitting ministers, planning to leave the party ahead of the assembly elections which would be held later this year? There is a strong buzz that at least 30 MLAs, some MLCs and key corporators are already in talks with either Congress or the BJP as they are unsure that KCR might not give them a ticket again.

Though KCR has time and again said that all the sitting MLAs would be given the party ticket again, these MLAs are not ready to believe him. They feel that KCR might spring a surprise at the last moment and give the ticket to the others. Hence, these leaders have reportedly approached the BJP and the Congress leaders in advance. They have reportedly obtained clear-cut assurances that they would be given tickets by the parties that they are ready to join.

If sources are to be believed, a minister from the twin cities wants two tickets for the family – one for him and the other for his son. He has reportedly opened channels of communication with the Congress in case KCR denies ticket. Another MLA from Malkajgiri district is also said to be lobbying for two seats in undivided Medak district for his family.

Interestingly, many such MLAs seem to prefer Congress over BJP. Their proximity to Revanth Reddy is said to be the reason for this move. As for the BJP, many TRS ticket aspirants feel that Bandi Sanjay may not really have much power or say in the ticket distribution. They doubt even Eatala Rajender on this issue. Lack of a clear leadership is affecting the chances of the BJP, say political observers.
