Amanchi's Dilemma: Jana Sena or Independent from Chirala?

Senior politician and firebrand Kapu leader Amanchi Krishnamohan is finding his political career at the crossroads. This two-time MLA, who has represented Chirala, is now finding things uncertain and the situation quite fluid. He is in a dilemma about his political future and is exploring various options available to him.
Amanchi, who won on the Congress ticket in 2009, returned to the assembly in 2014 as an independent candidate. Later, he joined the TDP in 2015 and the YSRCP ahead of the 2019 elections. However, he could not win in the 2019 elections from Chirala and his bete noire Karanam Balaram has trounced him.
His problems began after Karanam, who had won on a TDP ticket and later joined the ruling YSRCP. With both the arch rivals in the same party, the YSRCP leadership asked Amanchi to work as incharge of neighbouring Parchuru assembly constituency. This only means the end of the road for Amanchi in Chirala, which he has nurtured so well all these years. Further, Parchuru is an unknown turf for Amanchi and being Kamma dominated, a Kapu like him cannot make a mark in Parchur.
With the chances of getting a YSRCP ticket in Chirala getting increasingly dimmer, he is now said to be exploring the option of joining the Jana Sena and contest from Chirala. There are also rumours that he would contest as an independent from Chirala and test waters. Sources say that Amanchi has not made up his mind so far on this issue. But, one thing is clear. He is not going to work in Parcharu as YSRCP incharge.
