Amid Omicron Fear ,Delhi Airport Sees Crowded Space!

The danger bells being rung by the Omicron variant of Covid had forced India to keep an eye on the passengers coming from other countries. Due to this, the protocols for the air passengers at the airports were changed at once. The authorities at the airports are not letting them out without the Covid detection tests.
The new guidelines issued by the Centre say that the passengers have to undergo RC-PTR tests which is resulting in the passengers gathering in big numbers at the Covid test counters. Following the guidelines is mandatory but people gathering in big numbers at a place is also raising fears on Covid transmission.
The pictures and visuals from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport from Delhi which shows passengers standing in big lines without any social distancing were out on social media. This had inculcated a feeling of fear that the virus might get transmission as they stood very close to others.
Passengers who were present at the Airport had posted the pictures on social media and asked if the process is to detect the new variant or to spread the virus among the passengers. These scary pictures are being widely circulated on social media platforms.
According to the passengers who underwent the RC-PRT tests at the airport are saying that the guidelines are making them wait four long hours. The desks that are dedicated to the tests are seeing big crowds.
It has been widely reported that two kinds of tests are available for the passengers. While one type requires the passengers to wait for two hours for the test reports to come, the other one forces the passengers to wait for as many as eight hours. The difference between the two tests is the fare. To see that the passengers won't face any issues, the airport authorities are setting up more desks for testing purposes.
Covid gets spread among the crowd when the people follow no social distancing. The new variant is dubbed to be having a higher transmission rate than the other variants. If one passenger has Omicron, then it gets transmitted to other members standing in line and the chain of transmission goes on.
