The monthly pension scheme lends a helping hand to the beneficiaries by giving a certain amount so that it will come in handy. The pension amount is the main source of income for many. In rural areas, people remove their expenses from the pension amount.
The pension beneficiaries in Andhra Pradesh are feeling happy as the government gave them a festival gift. Ahead of the eve of Sankranthi season, the government announced the hike in the amount. From next month, the beneficiaries will get Rs 2,750 every month instead of Rs 2500 they receive every month.
The hike in the pension amount will be effective from the 1st of January. More than 62 lakh people receive the pension and they will get benefit from this. The Andhra Pradesh cabinet meeting was held recently under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy. The Cabinet approved many decisions including hiking the amount by Rs 250.
Increasing the pension amount was one of the big promises YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made while campaigning ahead of the 2019 general elections. Not forgetting this, Jagan has been increasing the amount at regular intervals.
The pension amount was increased to Rs 2250 and then Rs 2500. Now the same was increased to Rs 2750. Maybe the balance amount would be increased next year.
By the time Andhra Pradesh goes for the polls, the pension amount will be increased to Rs 3000 as promised earlier. YSRCP might use this as a big weapon saying that they have implemented almost all the promises made.
