Are AP political parties losing their importance at the national level?

Time was when AP was the pivot of national politics. In 1977, it was undivided Andhra Pradesh that backed the Congress and Indira Gandhi. In 1984, it was AP that showed resistance to Rajiv Gandhi's election tsunami. From 1980 till 2004, it was Chandrababu Naidu, who played the political king-maker. Later, it was the turn of late YSR to get all the respect at the national level.
But, when West Bengal CM Mamta Didi invited anti-BJP leaders for a conclave to work out the strategy for the upcoming presidential elections, there was no one from AP. She did not invite AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy despite having 151 MLAs in assembly, 6 MPs in Rajya Sabha and 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha. She did not bother about him as he is decidedly pro-NDA and might cast his lot with the BJP nominee.
She did not invite Chandrababu Naidu, for over ten years played a crucial role at the Centre, even while lording over the undivided AP. Not only Chandrababu has fewer votes at his command, but also his stock at the national level has plummeted beyond repair. No one even remembered him at the meeting. Significantly, in 2019, he shared the stage with the same Mamta Banerjee as part of the anti-BJP front.
Similarly, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan too did not get an invite as he is still in an alliance with the BJP. Thus, the Telugu regional parties have lost their relevance at the national level and perhaps for the first ever time in many decades, they have no significant role to play in the national politics and the presidential elections.
