Are BJP-YSRCP relations souring?
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 April 2023 11:34 AM GMTAre things soaring up between the ruling YSRCP and the BJP? Has the BJP decided to keep distance from the YSRCP? Is the recent tough stance of the BJP on YS Viveka murder a direct result of this rethink on BjP's part? These questions are now being hotly debated in the political circles of the state.
The arrest of YS Bhaskar Reddy, who is the father of Kadapa YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy has left the YSRCP stunned and startled. The CBI is not just relentlessly pursuing the Viveka murder case and has also called Avinash Reddy for questioning. Political pundits feel that this sudden toughening of the stance has got to do with the recent decimation of the BJP in the graduate constituency MLC elections.
The voters rejected the BJP totally and one of the main allegations against it was that it is shielding the YSRCP and that there is some kind of secret alliance between the two parties. This talk has damaged the party's prospects badly. Hence, the BJP, it appears, has decided to maintain a distance. A direct fallout of this stand is that the CBI is now getting tough with the cases against YSRCP leaders.
There are now fears that the BJP may also speed up the cases against YS Jagan too. The case pertaining t the attack on YS Jagan in Vizag airport too is now coming back to haunt the party. Similarly, the Central government will stop bailing out the state government so that the money taps will dry down. If this happens Jagan would be in great trouble just ahead of the 2024 elections.
