In a short span, two massive events held by the opposition Telugu Desam Party turned into a disaster and a few victims passed away. Few others sustained serious injuries. The two incidents brought severe criticism on the opposition party and the pro-ruling party critics lashed out at the TDP.

On the other hand, the opposition party's supporters also allege that the ruling party did not make good arrangements for security. They are talking about the presence of fewer numbers of Police personnel at the meetings as an example to back their demands.

Amid this, the Andhra Pradesh government stepped in and took some serious decisions as far as the public meetings and events are concerned. It has brought a few guidelines which have to be followed to hold meetings.

The Andhra Pradesh Home Department said that holding meetings in public places is causing issues for the common public and holding big meetings in congested places is leading to injuries and deaths. Having said that, the department proposed the idea of permitting the events in just open places.

"observed that public meetings on such roads cause huge inconvenience to the general public and the conduct of such public meetings also have proven to lead to injuries and deaths." the order reads.

"Police may suggest alternative locations away from public roads subject to condition that the meetings should not obstruct free flow of traffic on public roads and for the safety of the travelling public," the order added further.

However, there is also criticism that the ruling party might want to stop the opposition parties from holding parties and meeting people. The padayatra and meeting people made wonders for YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and he rose to power in the 2019 polls.

Keeping this in mind the ruling party is said to be in plans to stop the opposition from meeting the public. Nara Lokesh will start his Padayatra this month and he will be meeting people in the constituencies. Pawan Kalyan also announced a meeting this month in Srikakulam. Chandrababu Naidu is also likely to hold meetings. As the decision was taken ahead of the meetings many say that there might be an effort to stop these yatras and meetings.rnrn
