Balayya To Contest For Lok Sabha
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Dec 2018 7:47 AM GMTAnatapur is known to be the strong hold of Telugu Desam Party. In 2014, This is the only Rayalseema district where TDP won more seats than YSR Congress. Growing anti-incumbency and entry of former Hindupur MLA Abdul Ghani into YCP has been prompting TDP Leadership to adopt a new strategy.
Doubts have been raised by the winning chances of Balayya in Hindupur Constituency. Controversy involving Balayya's PA damaged the image of the Nandamuri Hero. At times, People of Hindupur complained Balakrishna wasn't accessible to them. Voters in the constituency protested in front of Balayya's house in Hindupur demanding justice for them. Internal surveys gave an indication that mood of the people is against the Actor-turned-Politician. All these factors might have prompted TDP Leadership to take some tough decisions.
Although Balakrishna is keen to contest again for Hindupur Assembly, TDP High Command is trying to convince him to opt for Hindupur Lok Sabha seat. Even Hindupur MP Nimmala Kistappa is more than happy to contest from Assembly Segment during the next elections. If Balayya contests for Lok Sabha, Kistappa will move to Hindupur Assembly.
