In the early hours of Friday Indian star cricketer Rishabh Pant met with a major accident and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. He sustained a few injuries in the mishap that took place on the Delhi-Dehradun highway when the wicketkeeper-batter was on his way to his home.

Cricket fans are in big shock hearing the sad news about the young player. Social media is filled with messages wishing the dangerous player a speedy recovery. Even a few former players also sent their wishes to the young player who is 25.

He was referred to a multi-specialty hospital for treatment and the hospital authorities said that his condition is stable now and they will announce further details and information later.

After the accident, the cricket governing body in India the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement on Rishabh Pant and said that he was treated for impact injuries at the Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre.

Adding further, the BCCI said that Rishabh Pant sustained cuts on his forehead and abrasion injuries on his back. The statement also said that Pant has a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe. He was shifted to the Max Hospital in Dehradun and he will undergo MRI scans.

The BCCI also said that it will make sure that Rishabh Pant will receive the best care. "Media Statement - Rishabh Pant. The BCCI will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase," BCCI said on Twitter sharing a media statement.

Rishabh Pant made a name for himself with his heroics in the India U-19 team for the World Cup in 2016. He was the vice-captain of the team. The next year he was given a call to the national cricket team.

It's been five years since his career started and he has already created a space for himself. Across formats, Pant is making new records and he even created better records than former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
