Minister's biggest headache: Sister declares war!!

Telangana minister Vemula Prashant Reddy is finding himself in a spot of bother. His biggest problem is coming from his home front and this is dividing his family like never before. His sister Vemula Radhika Reddy is all set to contest from either Nizamabad rural or Armur in Nizamabad district in the coming assembly elections. Well! That should be perfectly okay. But the problem is that she wants to contest on a Congress ticket. This means she will be fighting her brother, who is a minister in KCRâs cabinet.
Radhika Reddy is assistant director of the District Industries Centre in Warangal. She is also a key functionary of the Telangana Employees Association. Married to an NRI, she is based in Nizamabad district. Radhika and Prashant Reddy are not even on talking terms and this is reflecting in their political choices too. While Prashant Reddy has always been with the TRS, Radhika Reddy has been hobnobbing with the Congress Party.
Her father Surender Reddy has always been a pro-Telanganite and worked with KCR from the inception of the TRS. He too is finding himself in a piquant position. His loyalties too are divided now between the son and the daughter. As of now, Prashant Reddy too is maintaining a studied silence on the political entry of his sister.
Sources say that Radhika Reddy initially wanted to contest from Balkonda, the constituency of the minister. But family members reportedly pressured her to locate to some other constituency and thus avoided a showdown in the family. As of now, she is focused on both Nizamabad rural and Armur assembly constituencies, say sources close to her.
