Star Music director Devi Sri Prasad who was present at the release event of Icon Star Allu Arjun starrer 'Pushpa' gave his take on item songs. He was asked how he feels about item songs. His answer went viral instantly. Besides that, he had landed in an unwanted controversy with his answer.

When asked about his opinion of the item songs, DSP reportedly said that item songs are like devotional songs. The songs serve the purpose of meditation. Not stopping there, the Music director even sang 'Ringa Ringa' and 'O Antava Oo Antava' songs with his own lyrics at the event.

However, these comments did not sit down well with the firebrand leader, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MLA Raja Singh who represents the Goshamahal constituency. Severely objecting to the comments, he demanded an apology from Devi Sri Prasad over his comments.

Reacting to the Music Director's comments, the BJP MLA wondered why he had to utter these objectionable comments that hurt the sentiments of Hindus. It's ridiculous to compare devotional songs to item songs. As our sentiments were hurt, I am demanding an unconditional apology from him, he said.

The controversial MLA did not stop there. Issuing a warning that Devi Sri Prasad cannot roam in Telangana, Raja Singh said DSP should issue an apology or else he will have to face the heat for his comments.

This is the new addition to the list of controversies involving the 'O Antava Oo Antava' song that features queen bee, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The song has been creating a buzz since it was announced as it marks the first song of Samantha in a special song.

Along with the buzz, the controversies surrounding the song are also high. Earlier, the men's association had moved the Court against the song alleging that the song had hurt the sentiments of men by portraying them in a bad light. A section of people was not happy with the song and on social media, they expressed their dissatisfaction over the song.

The much-awaited Pushpa had hit the theatres on December 17. Having received a stunning response from the premieres itself, Pushpa is attracting good numbers.
