BRS to implement Munugode plan for assembly elections

The ruling BRS in Telangana is working hard to come back to power for a third consecutive time and this is no mean task. Given the rising anti-incumbency and the growing anger against the sitting MLAs, the BRS knows that things are not going to be all that easy this time around. Hence, the party has decided to put the same strategy that helped it fight anti-incumbency and beat the BJP in Munugode bypolls.

In fact, Munugode bypoll victory for the BRS came after two back-to-back drubbings in Dubbak and Huzurabad respectively. In Munugode, the party adopted an altogether new strategy for the bypolls. It appointed a team of five or six in-charges for each booth. This team devised and implemented plans to reach out to every voter in the booth. This happened at least thrice in each booth. As a result, the party managed to establish a connect with the voters.

The BRS has now decided to form booth-wise teams in every polling booth in all the 119 assembly constituencies of the state. These teams will start the work right away and begin meeting the voters. The party has already galvanized the local level leaders through Atmeeya Sammelanams and visits by senior leaders like Harish Rao and KTR. These activated workers would be made members of the booth level teams.

If highly placed sources are to be believed, the ruling BRS has also decided to allocate up to Rs 20 crore per constituency. In the 2018 elections, the party had reportedly allocated at least 10 crore per constituency. This time around, the amount is said to have been doubled to ensure that the party apparatus has no dearth of funds for the campaign.
