Can spent forces boost BRS chances in AP?

Will the support of a motley group of disgruntled and outdated Kapu leaders help the BRS make a splash in Andhra Pradesh? Highly unlikely say those watching the Telugu politics. Interestingly, most of those AP politicians who joined the BRS are regarded as spent forces.

Take for instance thota Chandrasekhar, who has been appointed the AP unit chief of the BRS. He is known at best as a part-time politician. In 2009, he contested as Praja Rajyam Party candidate from Guntur Lok Sabha seat. In 2014, he was the YSRCP candidate from Eluru lok Sabha seat. In 2019, he fought on the Jana Sena ticket. His biggest problem is that he goes into hibernation after every defeat.

Another leader who joined the BRS is former minister Ravela Kishore Babu. Ravela became quite unpopular as a TDP minister. After his defeat in 2019, he joined the BJP. Now he has joined the BRS. What he can do is anybody's guess.

Ditto with former IRS officer Chintala Partha Sarathy. He contested on a PRP ticket in the last elections and lost. He too is inconsequential in AP politics. He is an unknown commodity in Anakapally. Tummalasetty Jayaprakash Narayan, who was an unsuccessful candidate from Anantapur urban too is quite inactive. With leaders like this, can the BRS hope to make a mark in 2024?
