Chandrababus biggest dilemma: What to do with inactive seniors
X
One big complaint within the Telugu Desam Party is that the seniors, barring few honorable exceptions, are totally inactive. These leaders have stopped criticizing the YSRCP and have stopped playing an active role in the party’s day-to-day affairs. They are also not seen in public these days. This has been the situation for the past three years.

Except for leaders like Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, most seniors are not seen in public. Vexed by their inactivity, TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu is said to be seriously contemplating to replace them with a younger leader. If sources are to be believed, Chandrababu recently held a meeting with several such inactive leaders to discuss the party's strategy for the next elections.

Meanwhile, complaints are piling up against these "inactive" leaders. Many party workers are asking them to make way for the young leaders. The young leaders and cadre are saying that many of these leaders have not even tried to meet their supporters in the past three years. There are complaints against some wards of the political leaders, who, it is alleged, are meddling in party affairs.

What is surprising is that despite being inactive for the past three years, these leaders are still trying to get the party tickets for the next elections. Some of them want tickets even for their sons and daughters in addition to theirs. Sources say that Chandrababu Naidu is caught in a cleft-stick like situation not knowing whether to give tickets to the younger lot or to the same inactive bunch.
