Chandrababu to use Revanth's strategist to revive TDP in AP
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Jun 2022 7:54 AM GMTShedding its diffidence towards pollsters and election strategists, the opposition Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh is finally approaching a poll wizard to bail it out in 2024 elections. If sources are to be believed, the party top leaders have already approached former Prashant Kishore associate Sunil Kanugolu for assistance in formulating political strategies for the party.
Interestingly, Kanugolu, a Karnataka native, has assisted the BJP in Uttar Pradesh in 2917 and the Congress in Telangana. He is currently on an assignment to strategise for the Congress Party in Telangana. He will now assist the TDP in Andhra Pradesh. Interestingly, his guru PK will be assisting the YSRCP against the TDP.
Sunil's biggest task is to activate the second rung of the party leadership. Internal surveys by the TDP have shown that at least 60 per cent of the party cadre are not responding to the party programmes. They are said to be quite inactive. Survey has also shown that the cadre is worried about the huge investment needed to keep the organisational pot boiling. These workers are also said to be afraid of the cases that the YSRCP government is foisting.
Sources say that a key former minister from the Telangana region is said to have been appointed as the pointsman to deal with Sunil Kanugolu. The former minister is said to have held several rounds of meetings with Sunil Kanugolu. In the coming days, one might see Sunil playing a more open and more critical role in the TDP in Andhra Pradesh.
