The election bugle is yet to sound and the poll notification is still months away, but the political fever in Munugode assembly constituency has already reached a crescendo. All the major contenders have begun the campaign and are trying to win over the voters. Interestingly, all the major political parties seem to believe that the route to the heart of the voter passes through the palate.
All the parties are organising dinners and lunches in a big way to woo the voters. As a result, there is a festive mood in the constituency. Such dinner meets are a common sight in all major villages of the constituency. Most of these dinner parties have a mouth-watering menu of choicest and spicy non-vegetarian dishes.
As a result , the country chicken is much in demand in various parts of Munugode. In all the seven mandals of Munugode, the country chicken is not available in demand. The demand is so much that the chicken is being brought from towns and cities outside Munugode The price of chicken too has hot up in Munugode, say sources.
Similarly, mutton to is much in demand, The mutton prices too have gone up exponentially in the constituency. To add to these, the liquor too is being served in big quantities. The sale of liquor is said to have gone up considerably in Munugode.
