The election to elect the Congress chief from outside the Gandhi family has been in the news due to many reasons. The vote counting was started just a while ago. The election result would be announced today. Ahead of this, one of the contestants Shashi Tharoor made some stunning allegations.
Shashi Tharoor's team alleged that there are a few irregularities in the votes casted and raised many doubts about the votes polled from Uttar Pradesh. After making allegations about the votes, the team demanded that the votes from the state should be canceled.
The issue reached a point where Shashi Tharoor's team has written to the Congress leadership on the issue and the leadership assured that a detailed inquiry would be called. After the assurance, Shashi Tharoor's team gave their nod for the continuation of the vote counting.
