Delhi Liquor Scam: CBI Arrests Telangana Businessman!
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Oct 2022 7:28 AM GMTThe alleged Excise scam in the national capital Delhi is a big sensation in Delhi politics. The ruling AAP suffered a big shock with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia being named as the accused. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) already made searches at his house. The central agency is probing the matter and conducting searches.
The way the central agencies are digging deeper into the case and unearthing new issues in the alleged scam, made the political observers doubt if the agencies are tightening things around AAP as the Deputy Chief Minister is directly involved as per the allegations.
The seriousness of the scam is that a few members in other states are also believed to be involved in this. Earlier, the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that KCR's daughter Kavitha is also accused in the case.
Now the CBI reportedly caught another big fish from Hyderabad in connection with the case. Reports say that CBI nabbed Abhishek Boinpally on the charges of reportedly not cooperating with the investigation and misleading the probe. Following the procedure, he is expected to be placed before the court.
The first accused in the case to get nabbed in the case is Vijay Nair, a businessman and close aide of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Hyderabad-based businessman Abhishek Boinpally is the second arrest made by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
It has been widely reported that the newly arrested has close ties with Vijay Nair and if the central agency can unearth any crucial details then things would get tough for the Deputy Chief Minister and the Delhi government.
Abhishek Boinpally is said to be serving as the director of multiple companies spread across various fields. Reports say that he was involved in lobbying when the private operators were allowed to run the liquor shops.
The AAP is alleging that the Union government led by the BJP is using the central agencies to target them as the party is trying to spread wings in other states. There is a chance of probing agencies placing a few more under arrest in connection with the scam.
