Election Promises Might Cost Heavy:Jagan Learns a Tough Lesson!
X
Three years into coming to power in Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing the heat from the employees as they are showing no sign of taking a back step on their demands. They are stressing the CPS invoke issue mainly. Earlier, we have seen how the employees have hit the roads as part of their fight.

Bringing another headache to the government, a few employee unions have raised the issue one more time and gave a call to Chalo Chief Minister's Office. Under the protest, the employees have planned to stage a protest outside the CMO in Tadepalli.

Learning of a mistake from the previous protest, the Police Department had urged the employees to not carry out the protest as no permission was given. Section 144 came into existence in the temple city Vijayawada already. A few employee leaders were arrested by the cops already.

The Vijayawada Police are making sure that they give their best in stopping the protests from entering the CMO. For the same, they have deployed Police personnel on various roads that lead to the CMO. Without proper check-ups, they are not leaving anyone to go on the routes.

It has to be mentioned here that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to scrap the Contributory Pension System (CPS) while campaigning for his party before the 2019 polls. However, this could not be implemented due to various reasons.

Saying that even after three years of coming into power, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not implement the same, various employee unions and Teachers unions have called for an intense protest a few months back. Titled Chalo Vijayawada, the employees staged protests on the roads.

Given the police surveillance, the employees disguised themselves and reached the protest site. The previous protest was a hit. The Andhra Pradesh Government had come up with some PRC recommendations, however, they could pacify the employees.

The PRC issue has come back to bite the Andhra Pradesh government. Looks like, Jagan had learned a harsh lesson that making election promises without thinking might cost big time and the recent protests are the classic example of this.
