Even Mithun Reddy is unable to control groupism in YSRCP here

The Peddapuram assembly constituency in Kakinada district has always been an Achilles Heel for the ruling YSRCP. The constituency has never been a citadel for the party. In fact, this was TDP biggie Boddu Bhaskar Rama Rao's borough for quite some time. Later, the Praja Rajyam Party won it in 2009. In both 2014 and 2019, Nimmakayala China Rajappa of the TDP had won. In fact, China Rajappa braved the Jagan tsunami and won in 2019.
The YSRCP in this constituency is riven by factions and intense groupism. There are two major factions of the party in Peddapuram. One group is led by Thota Vani, who had unsuccessfully contested on party ticket in 2019. Vani is the wife of former MP Thota Narasimham. The rival group is led by State Warehousing Corporation president Davuluri Dorababu. He is also the constituency incharge for the party.
Despite the efforts of the twin Godavari coordinator Mithun Reddy, things have not improved. Recently, the supporters of the two groups clashed right in front of Mithun Reddy. This led to a tricky situation for the party.
Both the groups are flinging accusations against one another. MPs Vanga Geetha, Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose went to Thota Vani and tried to pacify her.
The biggest worry for the party is that the Jana Sena is quite strong in Peddapuram. The party might use the groupism in the YSRCP to its advantage. In fact, the Jana Sena got around 25000 votes in the 2019 assembly elections. Hence the party wants to put an end to the groupism in the party. But the infighting shows no signs of abating.
