Fight For Hindupur, Balayya says would resign as Legislator!

People in the region say that Hindupur enjoys better facilities and resources than Puttaparthi which makes it a better choice.
The protest to achieve the demand got momentum with Actor-turned-politician and Hindupur Legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna joining the force. As announced yesterday, Balakrishna started his silent protest fighting for the demand. During the protest, he held a placard supporting the demand.
Hindupur that has all the criteria should be announced the district headquarters, the placard reads. People who also took part in the protest held placards that mentioned a similar matter.
The protest came after the Andhra Pradesh government did not give any response to the call given by Balakrishna. He had urged the government to consider Hindupur as the district headquarters given the criteria it has. But no response came from the government-end.
This made the Hindupur MLA start a protest demanding the recognition of Hindupur as the headquarters. Before starting the protest, Balakrishna took part in a public rally from Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu statue to Dr. BR Ambedkar's statue.
At the protest site, Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna spoke to the media. Talking about the protest, he said that the protest was started to make Hindupur the district headquarters as it has the criteria and required facilities. He went on to say that they will protest for the demand and said, he doesn't shy away from leaving his MLA position to achieve the demand.
The Andhra Pradesh government had recently announced Satya Sai district with Puttaparthi as the district headquarters. However, people from Hindupur have come up with a demand that Hindupur should be made the headquarters as it has the criteria.
Earlier last month, a rally was held to support the demand. As a major step in the protest, Nandamuri Balakrishna sat for a silent protest. The locals and the TDP party activists stood in solidarity with Balakrishna and supported him in the fight to make Hindupur, the headquarters.
