The Telangana government led by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi made a sensational decision as far as the eateries are concerned and the decision can change the picture of nightlife in the capital city Hyderabad. Orders on the new decision were issued in the name of the Telangana Labor Department.

The Telangana government increased the operating hours of restaurants, shops, and malls in the city. As per the new orders, the establishments can function round the clock. They were allowed to open them for 24 hours. However, the owners have to follow certain rules for this.

While every establishment can use the facility, the owners have to follow the terms of the Police Act and Rules and pay Rs 10,000. The amount has to be paid every year; they can run the business round the clock. In the order, the concerned Ministry said that the establishments should have all the required records.

The move would allow the people to explore the city more. Usually, restaurants and malls are closed after a certain time. But the timings were changed now and they will be functioning round the clock. The new timings would surely give a big push to the nightlife.

The working hours of restaurants and eateries went for a toss during the Covid wave. The majority of them were shut down when the lockdown was imposed. Later they were allowed to function. But currently, most of them are shut after 11 PM. Post this, people use food delivery apps to get food.

With the changes in the timings, people can get food whenever they want. The other factor is that employment in the establishments will also be increased as the owners need more workforce. The expenses also go up as the owners have to make special arrangements like transport and facilities for employees and women employees in particular.

Nightlife is popular in the cities in a few northern states. Hyderabad is also in the top ten list, but the top positions are occupied by the northern cities. As the working hours were changed, we can expect Hyderabad to compete with the other metro cities.

"The Telangana government, hereby, issue guidelines for granting exemption from Section 7 (opening and closing hours) of the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act 1988 to all Shops & Establishments as defined in Section 2 (21) of the Telangana Shops & Establishments Act 1988 for operating 24x7 in the State," the Government said.
