Hit Man Rohit Sharma was made the skipper of the Indian team for three formats in a dramatic turn of events. He faced the big test with the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. When Australia and India locked horns for the series, Virat Kohli was the skipper and India won the series.

India entered the series as favorites as Men In India won the previous series and the ongoing series is played at home. We have been very strong at home series irrespective of the format. So everyone wanted to see how Rohit Sharma will face the challenge and face it.

Rohit Sharma faced the litmus test in style and scored a big century. By changing the bowling options regularly India wrapped Australia for 177 in the first innings. But India's innings also did not go as planned. India lost early wickets in the form of KL Rahul and Ravichandran Ashwin came at second down.

His century also made him join the special list of players who scored centuries across the formats as captains. After Babar Azam, Faf du Plessis, and Tillakaratne Dilshan, Rohit achieved the feat. Rohit Sharma became the first Indian skipper to get the record.

Indian bowlers breathed fire on the ground during Australia's innings. India got an ideal start with Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami sending Usman Khawaja and David Warner back to the pavilion early in the match. The rest of the bowlers took forward the start.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who made a comeback to the Indian team after a back recorded a super fifer by giving just 47 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three wickets and became the fastest Indian bowler to reach the milestone of 450 wickets.
