How this diehard Congressman switched sides in a jiffy?

The Congress in Telangana received a jolt when one of its key leaders of Adilabad region and AICC programme implementation committee chairperson Alleti Maheshwar Reddy suddenly turned up at the BJP national headquarters to become a member. Alleti's sudden appearance at the BJP national headquarters has left the Congress leaders stunned and bewildered.
Alleti's differences with PCC chief Revanth Reddy are well-known. On many an occasion, he openly slammed Revanth Reddy. After Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, he was expected to cross over to the BJP.
So, the Congress issued a show-cause notice to him hoping to upbraid him. But, instead of responding to the notice, he simply materialized at the BJP office to become its member.
Loing Alleti could prove quite harmful for the Congress Party in Telangana. The development comes ahead of the all-important elections to the state assembly later this year. With most key leaders switching over, the Congress will be left emaciated and weak. Most of the sub-regional satraps are now said to be looking towards the BJP.
For the past few days, Reddy has been having a flurry of meetings with the BJP top brass. Yet the Congress leaders did not think it fit to talk to him and hear his grievances. Instead, they slapped a notice on him.
A stung Reddy simply resigned from the Congress Party and did not waste a minute in joining the BJP. If sources are to be believed, some more leaders are likely to leave the party soon.
