Hyderabad Named Most Polluted Southern City In India: Report!
X
Air pollution is one of the biggest concerns for mankind and it leaves a heavy toll on the health of a person and causes several troubles. It mainly affects the lungs. Coming to India, it is an, even more, a bigger problem given the big size of the population we have. The metro cities have a large population.

As the Diwali festival is a few days away the discussion on the air quality in major cities has started. Recently, the Delhi High Court refused to entertain a petition seeking the lift of the ban on crackers during Diwali.

A recent report has listed the major cities in India in terms of air quality. Making the popular belief true, the national capital Delhi is the most polluted city, while Kolkata and the financial capital Mumbai are in the next positions.

But the rank of Telangana capital city Hyderabad in the list came as a surprise to everyone. Pearl city was ranked fourth in the list and it is the most polluted city from the southern states. Compared to 2020, the air quality fell massively in 2021.

The report said that in 2020, the PM 2.5 level which is the parameter to measure air quality was 34.7 micrograms per cubic metre of air, while rose to 39.4 in 2021. The big rise in PM level is not a small thing and it is a big concern for the people as far as the air quality is concerned.

Vehicular emissions are one of the major reasons behind the air quality getting worsened in peal city as per the experts. Green Challenge and other measures are taken to beat the pollutants worked well for the city last year. This year the case is not the same as the constructions were on a rise due to a big halt with Covid impact.

Like Punjab and Haryana, the practice of stubble burning is not that high in Hyderabad. Vehicle emissions and the burning of waste are leading the poor air condition in the city. On Diwali, the air condition is likely to get even worse due to firecrackers.
