The union government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party is leaving its mark on developing infrastructure in the country. More and more highways and bridges are being constructed. Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari needs a special mention here. He is giving his best in transforming the infrastructure.

Irrespective of states and regions, he is leading the force to bring special constructions. However, there is strong criticism towards the Union government that it is leaving the southern states and Telugu states in the transformation of infrastructure and other facilities.

Now the Centre approved an iconic bridge across the Krishna river in Telugu states. The cost of the construction is around over 1,000 crores and it would take 30 months for the construction. The cable-stayed cum suspension bridge is said to be the first of its kind bridge in India and the second one in the world.

As per Nitin Gadkari, the proposed bridge will be having beautiful surroundings like the Srisailam reservoir and Nallamalla forests. The bridge would boost the tourism sector in both states and it will give a spectacular view of the popular temples in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Sangameswaram temple and Lalitha Someswara Swamy temple respectively.

Besides this, the iconic bridge would also reduce the distance between places. People who travel from Hyderabad to Chittoor and Tirupati would also get a big relief as the distance would be cut short. The iconic bridge would also be equipped with some good facilities.

The proposed structure would have a pedestrian walkway across the river, gopuram-like pylons besides signature lighting, and a large navigational span as per the details mentioned by Nitin Gadkari.

While announcing that the proposal for the iconic bridge was confirmed, Nitin Gadkari took to the microblogging site Twitter and in a Twitter thread, the Union Minister listed out all the specifications and features, the proposed iconic bridge would have.

"It would have several unique features like the longest glass pedestrian walkway across a river, gopuram like pylons, signature lighting and a large navigational span. After its completion, the bridge will reduce the distance between Hyderabad and Tirupati by 80 km," the Union Minister said on Twitter.
