India Reported 48,512 Fresh Infections And 768 Fatalities In 24 Hours

India reported 48,512 fresh infections of the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total cases surpassed the mammoth 15 lakh-mark. The infections in the country stood at 1,531,669.
On the other hand, 768 people succumbed to the contagious disease in the last 24 hours and the total fatalities in connection with the respiratory disease in the country zoomed to 34,193.
The total recoveries of the virus rose to 988,029, including 35,286 patients recovering in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate which has been increasing gradually rose to 64.50%. The active cases stood at 5,09,447.
The total infections in Maharashtra are inching towards the 4 lakh-mark as the cases stood at 391,440. So far 14,165 people succumbed to the dreaded virus in the state.
The data collected by the Johns Hopkins University(JHU) states that the deadly virus has left more than 16 million people infected with the respiratory disease, while 6,55,300 people succumbed to the virus.
