India starts Home Series against WI with a promising win!

As a maiden series as full-time White ball skipper, Rohit Sharma captained Men in Blue against the West Indies in the home series. Team India had started the series auspiciously by crushing the opponents.
In the first ODI in the West Indies tour of India, Rohit men had marched onto an easy win by six wickets. The victory is so special for another reason that, India played its 1000th ODI on Sunday.
Team India had got the upper hand right from the toss. Rohit Sharma had decided to put the West Indies bat first after winning the toss. Indian bowlers had made wonders with the bowl and restricted West Indies to 176. The Caribbean team did not finish its quota of 50 overs and they were bowled out in 43.5 overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal had led the Indian bowling attack as he was the highest wicket with 4-49, followed by Washington Sundar (3/30), Prasidh Krishna (2/29), and Mohammed Siraj (1/26).
Chasing a mere target, Indian openers gave a flying start to the chase. Hitman Rohit Sharma recorded a half-century. Young opener Ishan Kishan scored 28. In the end, Surya Kumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda brought some fireworks.
Rohit Sharma, who took India towards the victory in the landmark match had earned brownie points for his captaincy. Not just that, Rohit Sharma had also managed to impress former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar.
Showering praises on skipper Rohit Sharma, Sunil Gavaskar said that Rohit had fared well as a skipper by making bowling changes that proved successful and his performance as skipper is 9.99 on a scale of 10.
