Indian batsman becomes joint-costly player in IPL history

The forthcoming season of the Indian Premier LeagueIPL is going to be interesting with two franchises gearing up to enter the tournament. Lucknow and Ahmedabad will be the new teams that are going to be added to the list of franchises in the IPL the popular cricket tournament.
With the much awaited Mega Auction fast approaching the Lucknow team packed three players in its draft who will be included in the list of the players who will represent Lucknow from the next season. An Indian player was signed by the team for a whopping price.
Stylish batsman KL Rahul was finalized by the Lucknow team for a price of Rs 17 crore. This makes the Karnataka player the costliest player in the upcoming season the 15th season of the Indian Premier League IPL. Not just the upcoming season, KL Rahul became the highest paid player in the history of the game and he shared the record with Run Machine Virat Kohli.
Chase Master Virat Kohli who has been an integral part of Royal Challengers BangaloreRCB was paid a stunning amount of Rs 17 crores by the franchise to retain him back in 2018. After four years KL Rahul received the same amount from the Lucknow team. The two Indian players hold the record jointly of receiving the highest amount.
In total the Lucknow team had signed three players. Besides KL Rahul the franchise had signed Australias Marcus Stoinis and Indias spin bowler Ravi Bishnoi for a sum of Rs 9.2 crore and Rs 4 crore respectively. The franchise is yet to pick the other players to play for the team.
KL Rahul who is leading Team India in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa in the absence of Hitman Rohit Sharma has been picked as the skipper of the Lucknow team.
