IPL Mega Auction 2022: Franchises playing their cards Right!

The IPL franchises are playing their cards right in picking up the players from the pool. The teams are not shying away from spending hefty amounts to bid for the players that they think are worth it.
Around 600 players have made themselves available for the auction. India's Shreyas Iyer had struck gold as he was bought for a big amount of Rs 12.25 crore.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which is struggling with lack of quality batters in recent times had purchased Iyer making him the costly buy in the auction so far.
Indian bowler, Harshal Patel who was recently given a call to the national team was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping Rs 10.75 crore.
He is the second most costly buy after Iyer. RCB had to fight with CSK and SRH for Patel. As his base price is just 2 crore, the amount kept on increasing with the bid kept going.
New IPL team Lucknow Super Giants had managed to get West Indies player Jason Holder for Rs 8.75 in a tough fight.
One of the quickest on-field, Dwayne Bravo was reunited with the Chennai Super Kings as the team bought the all-rounder for Rs 4.4 crore.

Ahead of the mega Auction, the existing Indian Premier League franchises have retained players and left the rest. The players whom the teams thought they couldn't leave were retained by paying them some amount. The teams have retained slippers and other players.
