Is the name BRS inauspicious? This is the question that is tormenting the ruling BRS these days. The party has changed its name from TRS to BRS amid much fanfare. But, subsequent events show that the BRS is hurtling from crisis to crisis ever since the name was changed. The party leaders are speaking about it in hushed tones.
Soon after the renaming, the party was struck by the Delhi liquor scam. The scam involved none other than chief minister KCR's daughter Kavitha Kalwakuntla. She too showed deep nervousness by making desperate attempts to dodge the inquiry by the ED. This gave rise to the impression that something was fishy in the whole affair.
As if this was not enough, the party is now facing severe criticism in the question paper leakage scandal. The general public is demanding accountability and the criticism is reaching the doorsteps of the party's working president and KCR's son KTR. A spate of fire mishaps in Hyderabad have punctured the city's image as a safe city.

On seeing the calamities befalling one after another, there is a growing feeling among the party workers that the name change was wrong.
