Is Vijaya Sai falling out of YS Jagans favour?

Things are getting tougher for Rajya Sabha MP Vijayasai Reddy in his own party. Rumours abound that he has fallen out of favour in the YSRCP. The party boss, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, it is being rumoured, is keeping him at a distance As a result, he is being divested of his party posts, say party's internal sources. Sources say that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy is growing in stature in the party at the expense of Vijay Sai.

The latest buzz is that Vijayasai has been removed as the head of the social media wing of the party. At the same time, the post went to Sajjala's son. Interestingly, Vijayasai did not attend the programme organised to mark the setting up of the social media team. Sources say that there was no invite to Vijay Sai. Sources argue that Sajjala has completely taken over the party.

Vijay Sai has been a trusted lieutenant of YS Jagan and has even been incarcerated along with YS Jagan in connection with the disproportionate assets cases. In fact, he was the eyes and ears of YS Jagan during the 2019 elections. He had in fact played a key role in the constitution of Jagan's council of ministers.

Sources say Jagan began keeping him at arm's length after a plethora of allegations against his complete domination of North Andhra politics came up. Later, he was made incharge of the party head office at Tadepalli. But it is common knowledge that he has not been seen in the party office in several months.

Sources say that Jagan is particularly peeved over the reports in a section of media considered close to the TDP that Vijayasai's family was involved in the Delhi liquor scam. In fact, some media houses have even gone to the extent of claiming that even Jagan's wife YS Bharathi was involved in the Delhi liquor scam. However, these allegations have been unfounded, say the YSRCP sources. But, this too could have weighed heavily in the minds of YS Jagan and it may have forced him to keep Vijayasai at arm's length.
