By: Tupaki Desk | 15 April 2023 9:34 PM ISTThe Vizag Steel Plant row became political already and the issue has been going through several twists and turns. In just two days, the concerned Minister said the Privatisation will not be continued as the main focus is on strengthening the plant and quickly changed his version. He said that his comments were misinterpreted.
After Union Steel Minister Faggan Singh Kulaste said that the privatization would not happen, the parties jumped to take the credit. The BRS in Telangana said that its fight made the Centre take a backstep. However, the AP Ministers countered this. Later Faggan Singh Kulaste said that the privatisation will happen.
Now the Vizag Steel Plant row took a big turn as former Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation Lakshminarayana made some sensational comments. He said that he is ready to take part in the bidding for the plant. This development was not predicted and he took everyone by surprise. JD Lakshmi Narayana said that he is gathering all the required documents.
He extended his support to the employees' unions which are fighting against this. On the occasion, JD Lakshmi Narayana said that he is gearing up for the bid. He also said that what the Telangana government did was massive and it was he who urged the Telangana government to take part in the bidding.
JD Lakshmi Narayana has been fighting against the privatisation row for some time. Earlier, he had written to the Centre asking it to have a second thought. He mentioned the contributions of steel produced in the Vizag Plant for the Statue of Unity, built after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the letter. He took forward the fight with the idea to take part in the bidding for the Vizag Steel Plant.
Moreover, V.V Lakshminarayana aka JD Lakshminarayana contested the 2019 elections from the Visakhapatnam constituency. But, he lost the elections and he reportedly wants to run the polls from the same constituency. However, there is no clarity on which party he would join and run the polls.
