The serving Chief Justice of India(CJI) NV Ramana who gave historic verdicts in many cases since he assumed the CJI office took some free time from his busy schedule and reached his native place. NV Ramana will be touring in his native place for three-long days. He hails from Andhra Pradesh.

Making his first-ever visit to his native place after taking oath as the top judge of the Supreme Court, Justice NV Ramana reached Ponnavaram in a bullock cart. After reaching the outskirts of the village in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna District, Justice NV Ramana had opted for a bullock cart ride to enter his native place Ponnavaram.

The locals who got to know that the Chief Justice is stepping on his native place after a long time planned a grand welcome and gave him a memorable welcome he would cherish for the rest of his life. In a traditional manner, the villagers welcomed NV Ramana and his family members.

CJI NV Ramana and his wife were welcomed in a grand way and gave them a warm welcome. A bullock cart that was decorated to welcome the couple carried them into the village amid cheers and celebrations from the villagers, well-wishers.

After reaching his native place, Justice NV Ramana offered special prayers at the Shiva temple in the village. He will be touring in Andhra Pradesh for three days. A special program was organised by the locals of the village to honor the Chief Justice.

Speaking on the occasion, NV Ramana said he loves his hometown. I shall remain grounded no matter the position I hold. Our village was politically dynamic in 1967 itself. There used to be leaders of three different political parties.

They used to have no issues politically. Even though they had any issues or differences during the elections, everything would be sorted out after the elections, he said.

During his three-day visit, NV Ramana will visit the Vijayawada Kanakadurga temple and offer his prayers. After visiting the famous temple, he will meet the Governor. The Chief Justice will also attend the dinner party of the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court.
