Karnataka Elections: How Parties Are Leading?
X
All roads are now leading to Karnataka. The vote counting started earlier today for the recently held Karnataka Assembly elections. People are not seeing the elections as just Assembly elections as the political observers say that the elections would say what will be the voters' mood for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The pre-election survey said that the Congress party would come to power with a clear majority. The early trends hint at the same and the Congress is leading in more than three-fourth seats. It is said that the Congress party is leading in more than 128 seats and BJP is leading in half of the seats.

As of now Congress is said to have won 34 seats and the Bharatiya Janata Party won 14 seats. The JDS is leading in just 20 seats and it won two seats.

Looking at the current developments, it is almost clear that Congress would come to power without any issues. Congress party leaders and cadres are already celebrating the early trends and there is a celebratory mood at the party offices in Karnataka. Telangana Congress leaders are hoping that the same would happen in the upcoming general elections in the state.

The Congress party is said to be working on whom to make the Chief Minister. If everything goes well the party leadership would announce the Chief Minister candidate on Sunday after having a detailed discussion.

Political observers say that there is a trend in Karnataka that no party managed to win consecutive elections and the same trend happened in the same polls. Both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress tried their best in wooing the voters in the state.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who earlier sounded confident of winning the elections accepted the defeat and said that they will analyze the situation once the results are out. The Chief Minister also congratulated the Congress party which is leading in many seats in the state.

"Once the results come we will do a detailed analysis. As a national party, we will not only analyse but also see what deficiencies and gaps were left at various levels. We take this result in our stride," the Chief Minister said.
